Fujitsu Ltd. ( ??????? , Fujits? Kabushikigaisha ) is a Japanese multinational information technology equipment and services company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. By 2015, it is the 10th largest IT service provider in the world as measured by IT service revenues (after IBM, HP and Accenture). Fortune is named Fujitsu as one of the world's most admired companies and Global 500 companies.
Fujitsu mainly makes computing products, but the company and its subsidiaries also offer a variety of products and services in personal computing, enterprise computing, including x86, SPARC and mainframe server products, as well as storage, telecommunication, advanced microelectronics and air conditioning products. It has about 159,000 employees and its products and services are available in over 100 countries.
Fujitsu is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the Nikkei 225 and TOPIX indexes.

History
1935 to 2000
Fujitsu is the third-oldest IT company after IBM and before Hewlett Packard, established on June 20, 1935, under the name Fuji Telecommunications Equipment Manufacturing ?????????? , Fuji Denki Ts? shin Kiki Seiz? ) , as a spin-off from Fuji Electric Company, itself is a joint venture between Furukawa Electric Company and Siemens conglomerate Germany which was founded in 1923. Apart from its association with the Furukawa zaibatsu, Fujitsu fled from the Allied occupation of Japan after the Second World War which was largely unharmed.
In 1954, Fujitsu produced the first computer in Japan, FACOM 100, and in 1961 launched the FACOM 222. In 1955, Fujitsu founded Kawasaki Frontale as a corporate football club; Kawasaki Frontale has been a J. League football club since 1999. In 1967, the company's name officially turned into a contraction of Fujits? ( ??? ) . Since 1985, the company also oversees the American football team, Front Fujitsu, who plays in the X-League company, has appeared in 7 Japan X Bowl, won two, and won two Rice Bowls.
In 1971, Fujitsu signed an OEM agreement with a Canadian company, Consolidated Computers Limited (CCL) to distribute CCL, Key-Edit data entry products. Fujitsu joined ICL which had previously started marketing Key-Edit in Commonwealth countries of Britain as well as in western and eastern Europe; and CCL direct marketing staff in Canada, US, London (UK) and Frankfurt. Mers Kutt, founder of Key-Edit and founder of CCL, is a common thread that led to Fujitsu's later association with ICL and Gene Amdahl.
In 1986, Fujitsu's and Fujitsu's business incubation unit (QUBIS Ltd) established a joint venture called Kainos, a private software company based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
In 1990, Fujitsu acquired 80% of the UK-based International Computers Limited (ICL) computer company for $ 1.29 billion (ICL was renamed Fujitsu Services in 2002). In September 1990, Fujitsu announced the launch of a new mainframe computer series which at the time was the fastest in the world. In July 1991, Fujitsu acquired more than half of Russian companies KME-CS (Kazan Manufacturing Enterprise of Computer Systems).

In 1993, Fujitsu formed a flash memory manufacturing business with AMD, Spansion. Fujitsu agreed to acquire 58 percent of Amdahl Corporation (including the Canadian-based DMR consulting group) that it had not owned about $ 850 million in July 1997.
In April 1997, the company acquired a 30 percent stake in GLOVIA International, Inc., El Segundo, California, manufacturing ERP software software whose software has been integrated into its electronics factory from 1994.
In June 1999, Fujitsu's historical connection with Siemens was revived, when the two companies agreed to merge their European computer operations into a new 50:50 joint venture called Fujitsu Siemens Computers, which became the world's fifth-largest computer manufacturing company.

In April 2002, ICL was again branded as Fujitsu. On March 2, 2004, Fujitsu Computer Products of America lost a class action lawsuit over a hard disk drive with a damaged chip and firmware. In October 2004, Fujitsu acquired Australian subsidiary Atos Origin, a system implementation company with approximately 140 employees specialized in SAP.
In August 2007, Fujitsu signed a contract worth  £ 500 million, 10 years with Reuters Group where Reuters shifted most of IT departments internally to Fujitsu. As part of an agreement about 300 Reuters staff and 200 contractors were transferred to Fujitsu. In October 2007, Fujitsu announced it would build an offshore development center in Noida, India with a capacity to accommodate 1,200 employees, in an investment of US $ 10 million.
In October 2007, Fujitsu's subsidiaries in Australia and New Zealand acquired Infinity Solutions Ltd, a New Zealand-based hardware, service and consulting firm, for an undisclosed amount.
In January 2009, Fujitsu reached an agreement to sell its HDD business to Toshiba. Business transfers finished on October 1, 2009.
In March 2009, Fujitsu announced that it had decided to amend FDK Corporation, at that time an equity-method affiliate, to a consolidated subsidiary starting May 1, 2009 (a provisional schedule) by subscribing to a private placement to raise FDK capital. FKK April 1, 2009, Fujitsu agreed to acquire Siemens shares at Fujitsu Siemens Computers at a price of approximately EUR450 million. Fujitsu Siemens Computers was later renamed Fujitsu Technology Solutions.
In April 2009, Fujitsu acquired the Australian software company, Supply Chain Consulting, for $ 48 million, just weeks after buying Telstra subsidiary Kaz for $ 200 million.
Regarding the net loss forecast of 95 billion yen in the year ending March 2013, in February 2013 Fujitsu announced to cut 5,000 jobs of 3,000 jobs in Japan and the rest abroad from its 170,000 employees. Fujitsu will also combine the Large Scale Integrated chip business with Panasonic Corporation.

In January 2016, Fujitsu Network Communications Inc. announced a new set of layered products to advance the software-defined network (SDN) for operators, service providers, and cloud builders. Cloud computing
Fujitsu offers public cloud services shipped from data centers in Japan, Australia, Singapore, the United States, the UK and Germany under the Global Cloud Platform strategy announced in 2010. The platform provides Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) - Infrastructure virtual information and communication technologies (ICTs), such as servers and storage functions - from Fujitsu data centers. In Japan, the service is offered as a Virtual On-Demand System Service (OViSS) and then launched globally as Fujitsu Global Cloud Platform/S5 (FGCP/S5). Fujitsu acquired RunMyProcess in April 2013, Cloud-based platform as as-a-Service (PaaS) specialized in workflow automation and business application development.
Fujitsu has launched the K5 Cloud Service offering with the Availability Zone currently used in Japan and the UK, further deployment is taking place across Europe. The Cloud K5 service is based on an open standard technology and can be consumed as Public Cloud, Virtual Private Cloud, or Private Cloud.
Fujitsu also offers a local cloud platform, such as in Australia, which provides the ability to rely on its domestic data center that holds sensitive financial data under local jurisdiction and compliance standards.
Microprocessor
Fujitsu manufactures SPARC-compliant CPU (SPARClite), the "Venus" 128 GFLOP SPARC64 VIIIfx model is included in K computer, the world's fastest supercomputer in June 2011 with a rating of more than 8 petaflops, and in November 2011, K became the first computer to the top 10 petaflops on September 2011.
