Grand Tourer Injection (from Italian Gran Turismo Iniezione ) - abbreviated as GTI or GTi - is fuel- variant of car injection model. Traditionally used for Grand Tourer cars, the term is now applied to various hot hatchbacks, though they lack the luxury traditionally associated with Grand Tourers.
Maserati 3500 GTI 1961 was the first car to use the name GTI which was then famous in 1976 with Volkswagen Golf GTI and also by Peugeot 205 GTi which was launched in 1984.
