LG Electronics Inc. (Korean: LG ?? ) is a South Korean multinational electronic company headquartered in Yeouido-dong, Seoul, South Korea, and part of LG Group, employing 82,000 people working in 119 local subsidiaries around the world. With 2014 global sales of USD 55.91 billion (KRW 59.04 trillion), LG consists of four business units: Home Entertainment, Cellular Communication, Home Appliances & amp; Air Solution, and Vehicle Components, with Starion India as its main production vendor for refrigeration and washing machines in the Indian sub-continent. LG Electronics's CEO is Koo Bon-joon, who took over the vice-chair of LG Electronics on October 1, 2010. In 2011, LG Electronics is the second largest television manufacturer in the world.

1958-1960s
In 1958, LG Electronics was founded as GoldStar (Hangul: ??). It was established after the Korean War to provide the country of rebuilding with consumer electronics and domestic appliances produced domestically. LG Electronics produces South Korea's first radio, TV, refrigerator, washing machine and air conditioner. GoldStar is one of LG's group with a company in faith, Lak-Hui (pronounced "Lucky") Chemical Industrial Corp. which is now LG Chem and LG Households. GoldStar merged with Lucky Chemical and LG Cable on February 28, 1995, changing the company's name to Lucky-Goldstar, and finally to LG Electronics.
1970s-1990s
In 1978, LG Electronics earned US $ 100 million in revenue from exports for the first time in its history. Rapid growth by globalization saw the company establish its first overseas production, based in the United States, in 1982. In 1994, GoldStar officially adopted the LG Electronics brand and the new corporate logo. LG Electronics acquired US-based Zenith TV manufacturer. In 2005, LG was the Top 100 global brand, and in 2006 LG recorded a 14% brand growth. Its display affiliate manufacturing, LG Display, in 2009 is the world's largest LCD panel manufacturer. On December 5, 2012, EU antitrust regulators fined LG Electronics and five other big companies (Samsung, Thomson since 2010 known as Technicolor, Matsushita which today is Panasonic Corp., Philips, and Toshiba) to fix the price of cathode-ray tube TVs in two a cartel that lasted almost a decade.
On June 11, 2015, LG Electronics found itself in the midst of human rights controversy when The Guardian published an article by Rosa Moreno, a former employee of an LG television assembly plant.
At the end of 2016, LG Electronics incorporates the German branch (located in Ratingen) and the European headquarters (located in London) together at Eschborn, a suburb of Frankfurt am Main.
In March 2017, LG Electronics was sued for handling hardware failures with the latest smartphones like the LG G4.

LG Electronics launched the OLED TV in 2013 and measures 65 inches and 77 inches by 2014. They later renamed Internet Television 2011 to "LG Smart TV" when more interactive television features were added, allowing viewers to receive information from the Internet while at the same time watching conventional TV programs.

The battery life is three months expected on a single AAA battery.

LG manufactures and sells home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines and dryers, vacuum cleaners, kitchen utensils, and air conditioners and even microwave ovens. In June 2014, LG Electronics also announced the launch of a smart device with HomeChat messaging service in South Korea. HomeChat uses LINE, a mobile messenger application from the Korean company 'Naver', to enable homeowners to communicate, control, monitor and share content with LG smart devices. Users can send simple messages, such as "start washing cycle", to control their washing machine.

In August 2013, LG Electronics announced it will sponsor German Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen for the next three years with the option to extend another year. LG is sponsoring the International Cricket Council, the world governing body for cricket, and also sponsoring the ICC Awards.

Choice magazine, in an independent test of LG's popular refrigerator model in 2010, found energy consumption in two models higher than that claimed by LG. LG provides assistance to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to provide appropriate remedial notice and improve and maintain its trade practice compliance program. Propose US headquarters
LG Electronics USA has proposed to build a new headquarters in the Englewood Cliffs area in Bergen County, New Jersey, including a 143 foot (44 m) tall building that will stand taller than the Hudson Palisades tree line, the US National Land Landmark. The company proposes to build an environmentally friendly facility at Englewood Cliffs, which is a coincidence for the main South Korean population in the Bergen County region, having received favorable legal decisions initially on building altitude issues. The plan, while approved by the local government, meets with resistance from segments of the general public as well as government officials in neighboring New Jersey and New York. The initial court decision enforcing local government approval was overturned by a New Jersey appeal court in 2015, and LG subsequently submitted a revised, diminished, 64-foot building for approval by Englewood Cliffs region in 2016. LG broke out at Englewood Cliffs US $ 300 million base on February 7, 2017, to be completed by the end of 2019.
