The Missing Man Table , also known as the Fallen Comrade Table, is a place of honor, set up in the US military's army feeding facilities and during occasions such as service birthday balls, to commemorate deceased military members, lost, or imprisoned. The table serves as the central point of the ceremonial memorial, initially growing from the US attention to the Vietnam War POW/MIA issue.

Obedience
Outside of a permanent display at the dining facility, the missing persons table is part of a military meal and service. In recent years, the ceremony has often been performed simultaneously with Veterans Day and Day Warning services. When presented in a dining room or service ball, the narration given to the audience explains the symbolism of each item. The practice of missing persons' desks has evolved over time and is currently not regulated by the US Department of Defense or any service-specific guides.
