Histori

Walter is a family business founded in 1919 by Walter Warrington in Mamaroneck, NY. His first stand, on Boston Post Road, was in front of Skinner's Floral store near Central School (now the Mamaroneck City office). He sells apple cider and apple from a orchard he bought at Quaker Ridge.

Later, Walter moved south on Post Road, at Shepard's Field (roughly where Richbell Road now meets Post Road). This is where he started selling his unique hot dog brand, mixed with beef, pork and veal, with baked wieners. At Shepard's Field, Walter makes apple cans to make apple cider.

There is a blueprint for a stand to be built on the adjacent property on Jalan Pos which will include a residence on the second floor. However, the property was condemned by the School Board; Secondary school was built in 1926 (now Mamaroneck High campus). In 1928 he bought a property on 937 Palmer Avenue, where his later pagoda had been.

The Palmer Avenue building has a pagoda-style copper roof, now oxidized to light green, and dragon lanterns. This is an example of a roadside architecture.

The current owner is Walter's son, Eugene Warrington.
